How to Measure Inseam Length


You can measure the inseam of your pants by following the steps below.
The measuring method varies depending on the design and crotch stitching, so please choose the one that matches your pants.
 

 

Types of Pants

Pants with a Center Crease

Pants without a Center Crease

Pants with Folded Stitch
※ Have two visible stitch lines on the back center seam ( inside ) and the fabric edges are rolled into seam

Pants with Interlock Stitch
※ Have overlock stitching visible on the seam allowance at the back center seam ( inside )

If the fabric overlaps in a cross shape at the crotch
※ At the crotch area, the outer fabric overlaps and no seam is visible on the surface

Pants with a Center Crease
 
  1. Lay the pants flat so the waist faces left and the right leg lies underneath.
    ( Measure along the inside seam of the right leg )User-added image
  2. Place the tape measure at the starting point of the crotch seam User-added image
  3. Measure along the inside leg seam down to the hem User-added image

Pants with Folded Stitch
 
  1. Lay the pants flat with the waist to the left and the right leg toward you.
    ( Measure along the inside seam of the right leg )User-added image
  2. Place the tape measure at the stitch line start in the crotch area and follow the inner seam to the hem User-added image
  3. Measure along the inside leg seam down to the hem User-added image
    If there is curvature, measure in sections, following the curve User-added image

Pants with Interlock Stitch
 
  1. Lay the pants flat with the waist to the left and the right leg toward you
    ( Measure along the inside seam of the right leg )User-added image
  2. Place the tape measure at the stitch line where overlapped fabric is visible at the crotch seam. User-added image
  3. Follow the inner seam down to the bottom User-added image
    If there is curvature, measure in sections, following the curve User-added image
